There were times where I saw Kate grabbing shoes, garter, flowers and staging items as if she was photographing a magazine shoot.
Kate is very patient, understanding and works very independently.
Kate provided a story board form prior to the wedding to ensure all the important family members were captured as well as the names so she would know who everyone was as oppose to "hey you in the blue shirt", she also wanted to make sure that my make-up was halfway done prior to taking pictures. My wedding was in New Orleans at Southern Oaks Plantation and Kate followed the wedding party from the party at the hotel, the ceremony and reception. Kate captured candid images of my guest and images and decorative details that really tells the story of how great the party was memories we will always cherish. The finish photos from My engagement photos were absolutely amazing. I mentioned it to Kate and she attended my engagement party as a guest and as a potential photographer for my big day. Prior to my wedding I had an engagement party in which I had hired a photographer prior to meeting Kate. Kate patiently explained her pricing and what was included in each package as oppose to giving me a brochure with a contact number and pricing like most vendors during bridal shows. Read MoreĮnding on hiring for my big day. Do yourself a favor and check out Kate's work and if you dig it, do everything you can to hire her, she is simply the best. Oh yeah, did I mention that Kate did all this during a PANDEMIC WEDDING? She was following all COVID safety measures we set in place and made sure to keep herself and everyone around her safe. I HIGHLY recommend you pay extra for this bonus, especially if you opt to pass on hiring a videographer, which we did, since we didn't like the idea of videotaping the wedding (for the reason listed above regarding the pacing of the day). On top of capturing priceless still moments, Kate shot a roll of Super 8mm film (yes, like actual film-film) of our wedding day and edited together a short montage film of the day that is more magical than Hermoine, Harry, and Ron combined. One nice touch Kate implemented was bringing a 'floater camera' that was loaded with a roll of 35mm film which she handed out to guests to fire off, and we got a ton of wonderful candid guest-POV shots that way, complete with the classic date-burn-in (Eat your heart out wannabe Instagram Filters). Kate respects the event and the guests and most of all the special couple. I've been to far too many weddings where it feels like the video or photo team is guiding the wedding vibe and pacing and to me it can be a real mood killer. During the wedding day I hardly noticed Kate as she was so good at swooping, snapping the perfect moment, and backing off. We asked her to lean into the candid shots which she did an amazing job at capturing. O know us before the wedding and establish what sort of shots we wanted on the day of, and she absolutely delivered.
